What happens when the map that got you here can’t tell you where to go next? We collect other people’s endings. We memorize the lines. We follow the maps of people who seem to have already figured it out. And then life drops us somewhere in the middle. No soundtrack. No narrator. Nobody thoughtfully leaves a sign. Till Our Own Road Begins was written from the ideas behind my forthcoming book, Where the Map Ends—a book about those peculiar stretches of life when something that once made perfect sense…doesn’t quite anymore.
The job changes. The relationship changes. The plan wanders off. Or perhaps nothing dramatic happens at all—and a story we’ve been perfectly capable of living simply becomes harder to keep telling.
